How this site is paid for
Where the money comes from, and what it does not change.
Today
CalcMule does not earn anything from the calculators right now. There are no ads, no affiliate links, and no forms that pass your details to a company. The calculators are free to use.
Nobody has paid for a place in any calculator, and nothing on the site is there because it earns a commission.
What could change
The site may later earn money in three ways: display advertising, affiliate links to retailers, or referral fees when a visitor asks a supplier or a contractor to get in touch. If any of those is added, this page will be rewritten to describe it before it goes live, and the Privacy Policy will be updated to match.
Whichever of those is added, nobody could buy a place in a calculator's output, and no calculator would recommend a product because it earns something.
What this does not change
Every constant and price on this site comes from a published source, and the source is named on the page. Nothing that pays this site can move a coverage rate, a density, a bag yield, or a waste allowance, because those figures come from a manufacturer's data sheet, a trade association standard, a government publication, or a state specification.
Where a figure is our own estimate rather than a published one, the page says so. Where a widely circulated number could not be sourced, the page names it rather than using it. Where sources disagree, the range is published rather than one number chosen.
The About page covers how the figures are sourced and maintained, and the contact page is the right place to send a correction.
What you should still do
Check the figure against your supplier before you order. These are estimating tools, the sources behind them are published ranges rather than measurements of your materials, and your supplier's figure is the one to order by.
If a calculator's output and your supplier's numbers disagree, theirs governs.
